Dr. Charanjit Sihota
Dr. Charanjit Sihota has been an Edmontonian her whole life. Growing up minutes from Eyes on 34th she has always wanted to give back and be involved in the community that helped raise her. Her motivation & drive to give back came to life when she decided to become a founding partner in opening Eyes on 34th. Dr. Sihota is a very compassionate individual who values community, people & self. She feels opening her own practice has now put her in a position to help seniors, children & everyone in between. She has given back by volunteering her time, educating through one on one & radio wherever possible as well as donating to local charities & community events.
Dr. Sihota received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2004. She was the recipient of the David J. Keiko Award in Excellence of Clinical Care in 2004. Over her optometric career she has gained valuable experience in pediatrics & primary care. She has been fortunate enough to take part in internships at veterans’ hospitals in both Detroit & South Dakota. She also spent considerable time with the pediatric clinic at Illinois Eye Institute and invaluable experience was also gained at the Chicago National institute for the Blind.
Hand in hand with providing a high quality of eye care Dr. Sihota. she helps manage the business side of Eyes on 34th. She is currently a member of the Alberta College of Optometrists and Alberta Association of Optometrists. When not working, Dr. Sihota enjoys travelling, reading as well as spending time with her husband and three daughters.
Dr. Joti Deol
Dr. Deol was born and raised in Edmonton. She got her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta where she majored in biological sciences and got her minor in psychology. She then went on to get her doctorate at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Deol graduated as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She rotated throughout various clinics in the U.S. including Martha Elliot Health Center, New England Eye Institute, and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Throughout her clinical rotations she has gained a wide variety of experience including pediatrics, contact lens, as well as diagnosing and managing ocular disease. In her spare time Dr. Deol enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Nav Pandher
Dr. Nav Pandher completed his Optometry Doctorate at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. As part of his clinical experience, Dr. Pandher had the opportunity to be associated with the top US pediatric hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Pandher took the time to broaden his knowledge beyond primary eye care taking part in internships at various specializing practices, including fitting contact lenses and managing ocular disease.
As a fellow Edmontonian, it is Dr. Pandher’s mission to give thorough and unparalleled eye care to his patients. Strongly believing that an eye exam is more than getting a glasses prescription and a patient is more than a set of eyes, Dr. Pandher puts a heavy emphasis in patient education promoting ocular health. When not working, Dr. Pandher enjoys traveling, playing various sports and spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. Sonia Heer
Dr. Heer was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology at the University of Alberta. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she was awarded a Board of Trustee Scholarship to attend the Illinois College of Optometry. During her time there, Dr. Heer gained diverse experience in advanced care and ocular disease management. She was given the opportunity to rotate through various clinics including the Central Western Massachusetts VA, Mid Florida Eye Center, and the Alfred and Sara Rosenbloom Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Heer received her doctorate with the highest academic honor, Summa Cum Laude and was awarded membership to the Tomb and Key Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Heer is passionate about her profession and places a strong emphasis on patient education and comprehensive eye care. In her free time Dr. Heer enjoys travelling with her husband, cooking, and working out.
Dr. Sam Dhaliwal
Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Sam Dhaliwal began his undergraduate program at the University of Alberta. In 2003, Dr. Dhaliwal was accepted into the Doctor of Optometry Program at Illinois College of Optometry at an exceptionally young age of 20. In 2007, Dr. Dhaliwal graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with Cum Laude Honors and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Science. In recognition of his academic achievements he was selected to be part of the Tomb & Key Honors and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honors Society.
Having performed thousands of eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and surgical co-management; Dr. Dhaliwal is an accomplished optometrist. He has extensive experience in advanced contact lenses fits including Scleral Lenses, Keratoconus Lenses, Orthokeratology(CRT Lenses), Myopia Control Lenses, Post Corneal Surgery and Multifocal Lenses with excellent visual outcomes. His patients regularly comment on his genuine listening skills and ability to provide answers in a clear and common language; he always puts the patient’s best interests above all else. When not working Dr. Dhaliwal enjoys playing hockey, traveling and spending time with his wife, friends and family.
